Fish Dying – Stream Too Hot
9 January 1939

Eskdale, Sunday
To prevent pollution of the town water supply, dead fish are being removed from the stream from which the water is pumped. Within the distance of one mile over 100 fish, ranging in weight from 1/2 lb to 4 lb., were removed. Hundreds of others are dying owing to the high temperature of the water.
